Singrenacocha Lake Full Day

Tour duration: Full Day

Nature, tranquility, and high Andean landscapes

DESCRIPTION:

Singrenacocha Lake is one of the most peaceful and least explored natural destinations located in the province of Quispicanchi. Surrounded by wide high Andean landscapes and privileged views of important snow-capped mountains of the Vilcanota mountain range, Singrenacocha Lake is ideal for travelers who want to disconnect, relax, and enjoy nature in its purest state.

The name Singrenacocha comes from the combination of the words “sirena” and “cocha” —lake in Quechua—, referring to ancient local legends related to this mysterious body of water. Its glacial waters, intense turquoise color, and peaceful surroundings make Singrenacocha Lake a perfect place for contemplation, photography, and connection with nature.

ITINERARY:

Our service starts between 04:00 and 04:30 a. m. with pickup from your hotel in Cusco, beginning our tourist route within the province of Quispicanchi. Along the way, we will pass through the town of Urcos and then join the Interoceanic Highway, continuing toward the district of Ocongate and different Andean towns such as Tinke, Pampacancha, and Mahuayani. During the journey, we will be able to appreciate wide high Andean landscapes, rivers, traditional communities, and typical fauna of the region, such as llamas, alpacas, and, occasionally, vicuñas.

After approximately 3 hours of travel, we will arrive at the town of Yanacancha, where we will take a detour toward Singrenacocha Lake. During the route, we will also enjoy impressive views of the snow-capped mountains of the Vilcanota mountain range, mainly highlighting the majestic Ausangate Mountain, at 6,384 meters above sea level, considered the most important Apu of Cusco. Depending on the weather conditions, it is also possible to see nearby snow-capped mountains such as Callangate or Ccallangate, at 6,110 meters above sea level, one of the highest mountains in the region.

Upon arrival at Singrenacocha Lake, located at approximately 4,350 meters above sea level, we will begin a light walk around the lake, ideal for enjoying the landscape, taking photographs, resting, or even doing activities such as meditation in a unique natural environment. Its turquoise glacial waters contrast with the surrounding mountains and snow-capped peaks, creating one of the most impressive and least crowded landscapes in Quispicanchi.

After enjoying the experience, we will have free time to have a snack, so it is recommended to bring snacks or a box lunch for the trip. It is also possible to make stops along the way to buy food if desired. Finally, we will begin the return to the city of Cusco, arriving at approximately 05:00 p. m., ending this experience at the beautiful Singrenacocha Lake.
