During the 7 Lakes of Ausangate experience, we will walk through extensive wetlands, snow-capped mountains, and beautiful natural settings surrounded by llamas, alpacas, and vicuñas. The crystal-clear waters of the 7 Lakes of Ausangate show turquoise, green, and blue tones due to the minerals from the glacial meltwater of the Ausangate mountain.

The 7 Lakes of Ausangate route is perfect for travelers who love nature, adventure, and Andean landscape photography.

ITINERARY:

The tour starts at 4:00 AM with pickup from your hotel in Cusco to head toward the community of Pacchanta, on a journey of approximately 3 and a half hours. During the trip, you will be able to appreciate high-Andean landscapes, local communities, and typical wildlife such as llamas, alpacas, and vicuñas. Around 8:00 AM, we will arrive in Pacchanta, located at 4,300 meters above sea level, where we will enjoy breakfast with a view of the snow-capped Ausangate mountain.

At 9:00 AM, we will begin the hike toward the 7 Lakes of Ausangate circuit, crossing wetlands and mountains. At approximately 11:00 AM, we will arrive at the 7 Lakes of Ausangate, where we will observe colorful lakes such as Azulcocha, Otorongo, Pucacocha, Alqacocha, and Qomercocha. The guide will also provide information, and you will have time to take photos.

Afterward, we will begin the return hike to Pacchanta, arriving at around 1:30 PM for lunch. Finally, at 3:00 PM, we will return to Cusco, arriving at approximately 7:00 PM, ending the 7 Lakes of Ausangate experience.
